Introducing: New MRP Toolkits

The Centre of Excellence for Matrimonial Real Property is pleased to announce three (3) new MRP Toolkits to its training regime.  Each Toolkit provides focused training on one of the three major aspects of implementing the Family Homes on Reserves and Matrimonial Interests or Rights Act.

  • Provisional Federal Rules (PFR) Toolkit
  • MRP Law-making and Ratification Toolkit
  • Implementation of an MRP Regime Toolkit

Each Toolkit is intended as stand-alone training on one aspect of the implementation of the Family Homes on Reserves and Matrimonial Interests or Rights Act.  This allows for a more focused exploration of each aspect of the legislation.  In the future, a First Nation may request training targeted to meet their most immediate need; however, this suite of materials is being piloted together in 2018-2019.    When used together, the three Toolkits and associated training materials will provide a fulsome understanding of all aspects of the legislation.

We invite participation of First Nations representatives in the inaugural sessions our newly developed Matrimonial Real Property Focused Training.  Two sessions will be held; one in Calgary November 20-22, 2018 and one in Toronto December 11-13, 2018.
