Service Announcement Update
Dear Members, Colleagues and Partners:
The COVID-19 pandemic is creating challenges for every organization. We are doing our part to ensure protection of the people we serve and our staff during this unprecedented time.
As we are uncertain of the long-term impact of the pandemic, we are taking proactive measures and have decided to suspend all NALMA face to face training and events for 2020-2021 fiscal year.
We will continue to provide our technical support services by offering special project funding related to Land Use Planning, Surveys and Matrimonial Real Property. Please visit our websites for information about these funds. www.nalma.ca and www.coemrp.ca.
All staff will continue responding to your technical referrals and assist you where possible.
This 2020-21 fiscal year, NALMA will take the opportunity to redesign Level II of our Professional Lands Management Certification (PLMCP). We have not updated our program since we first delivered it in 2004. As such, we are taking this time to focus on responding to the feedback and the report received from the Reserve Land and Environment Management Program (RLEMP) National Engagement of 2017 where participants expressed the need for training to be updated.
Therefore, NALMA is very excited and looking forward to redesigning the training that will address the key recommendations in the report, as well as, design it in a way that will meet the training needs for all land regimes. This process will take the greater part of the year for implementation come April 2021.
